Bob Marley's: A Tribute To Freedom at Universal Citywalk

6000 Universal Blvd
Orlando, FL 32819

Reason to LOVE Bob Marley's at Universal CityWalk:

1.) Live Entertainment.

2.) Can enjoy as a family for lunch or dinner.

3.) Authentic replica of his Home in Jamaica.

4.) Free cover before 9pm.

5.) Open Air Dance Floor

Bob Marley's is one of my favorite Orlando bars. I’ve always loved to go there and enjoy the reggae bands and the cool surroundings. This’s one of those places that makes you feel at home and welcome.

statue of bob marley When I was younger I used to go here with my friends. We used to have a planters punch (or three) and just dance the night away. With a live reggae band you may feel like you’re in Jamaica.

All of the staff are really nice and accommodating and the people that come to relax here are super cool. How can they not be with the “no problem mon” attitude? The service can get a little slow once the place begins to fill so be prepared to wait.

It's located in the heart of Universal Citywalk so if you do find yourself having to wait you could always check out one of the other clubs located here.

Once you get inside you'll see the coolest part is the way Bob Marley’s is laid out. When you walk in, straight in front of you you’ll see a large dance floor and a stage set up with drums and instruments for the band.

When you enter the courtyard and look around you’ll see green shutters and tile roofs. And then you’ll realize this’s an authentic replica of Bob Marley’s home in Jamaica. His family even helped design the place!

To the left there are tables that are used during the day for people dining at this Orlando,Florida restaurant. Yep they have food too! Jerk Chicken and cheese fondue are must try.

If your looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine this's not it. The food isn’t as good as it would be in Jamaica but it’s acceptable Americanized food.

And it offers one of the lowest cost menus at Citywalk Orlando. The kitchen closes at 10pm so make sure you order before then if you’re hungry.

If it’s dinner you’re after you can call ahead to get preferred seating. Or just show up and hope there isn’t a wait. After 9pm you must be 21 or over to hang out at Bob Marley's. Because after that the restaurant turns into a cool Orlando night club.

Bob Marley's offers a very relaxing and upbeat atmosphere. The vibe is laid back. But feel free to dress up. Whatever you do make sure you’re comfy. You’re going to want to dance so make sure your clothes allow for that.

If you don’t care to dance than there's other Orlando bars for you. And if your not into the island scene you may want to check out Pat OBriens or the Groove (both in the Universal Citywalk area.)

entrance to bob marley's Behind the tables there’s a bar. If you’re still standing in the doorway to the left of you you’ll see a souvenir stand where you can buy cute little trinkets, reggae cds and tie dyed tee-shirts that say Bob Marley on it. Plus other cool novelty items.

Look to your right and you’ll see a staircase leading up to the top floor. This’s the part of what makes Bob Marley's so neat.

If you want to get out of the crowd or just want a change of scenery you can go upstaris on the balcony and watch over the crowd from above. Pretty cool! There's tables up there and a separate bar (although sometimes this bar is closed.)

Look up and you’ll see the sky! That’s right there’s no roof! There’s a roof covering the bar and the seating area but once you get to where the dance floor is it’s nothing but starry skies.

This’s the thing I love the most about Bob Marley's. It’s great to listen to the island music and dance under the stars. This’s why I think you owe it to yourself to check this place out!

Remember though the dance floor is open to the elements so if it’s raining the band can’t go on. If that's the case you can check out one of the other Orlando bars at Citywalk and save this one for another night.

Get there early if you want to claim a good table near the dance floor. You're going to want a place to sit after dancing for a while. The club gets pretty packed so the tables get taken up quickly.

If you get there before 9pm they’ll still be seating for dinner. You could tell them you’d like to go to the bar and they’ll let you in.

If you wait until 11 or 12pm to go to Bob Marley's you may find yourself waiting outside for awhile. By this time it becomes standing room only. Either way it'll be worth the wait.

Before the band goes on you’ll hear Bob Marley's music. Once the band hits the stage though the music is whatever they want to play. A mix between Caribbean, reggae and dance hall hits.

bob marley memories If you go to the bathroom (which I’m sure you’ll want to do after a drink or two) be sure to check out the Bob Marley memorabilia on the walls. Pictures of his albums, articles about his life, even a gold record or two.

The whole place is very clean and well maintained. I think Bob Marley himself would hang out at this bar in Orlando if he were still around :)

I got married in Jamaica and actually got to visit Bob Marley's house which I thought was pretty cool. It was on a cliff overlooking the crystal blue ocean. It was spectacular!

I can see how he found so much inspiration to write all of his music. If your unfamiliar with his music you should pick up a cd from the souviner stand and check it out.

bob marleys fan The band at our wedding played Bob Marley's “One Love” which became mine and Chris’s song. So now whenever I feel nostalgia for Jamaica I just go to Bob Marley's at Citywalk Orlando and feel like I’m there all over again. Right down to someone handing me a tropical drink!

Even on a hot night there are large fans that keep you cool. And on cold nights they have heaters to keep you warm. If you’ve ever been to Jamaica you know that this is truely authentic.

During our stay my husband and I found this out the hard way. No air conditioning in the rooms. Just the natural breeze and a fan.

You’ll see a great mix of tourists and locals swaying to the music at this Orlando bar. For a reggae good time be sure to check out Bob Marley's at Universal Citywalk. It’s sure to please. Yeah Mon!
