Once you get to where the Boggy Creek Airboat rides are you have to go inside the little office and check in. I suggest getting there about ten minutes early (you should make a reservation to ensure you don't have to wait)

At the beginning of the ride they show you a baby gator. Don't worry, it's pretty small and they tape its mouth shut. You have the opportunity to get your picture taken with it. The prices of picture are $15-$25. If you're on vacation it may make a cool keepsake.

You can pet the baby gator and get the chance to check it out up close. If you go to GatorLand Florida you'll have the same opportunity there.

After that you get geared up and ready to go. Once everyone loads into the boat you're off!

They have you wear these really attractive headsets. They squish against your ears so you can hear very little. But that's the point. The motor to the boat can get very loud, especially if you're going fast.

I guess they don't want you coming off the boat deaf. Unfortunately it makes it very difficult to hear what the captain is saying.

If you have health problems it may not be the best idea to ride on a Boggy Creek airboat ride. It can get fast and choppy in the water. Plus, if anything were to happen it may take a lot of time to get help.

All the boats are handicapped accessible so if you're in a wheel chair or have issue getting around you can still go and enjoy the ride.

I also wouldn't recommend airboat riding if you aren't at least a little adventurous. It's a lot more fun if you just go with it and have a good time. But if you don't like bugs, pretty big ones, then you may not want to ride the airboat.

My suggestion is to wear long pants, closed shoes and long sleeves. That way if you do encounter some unpleasantness than you have some protection.

If it's during the summer this may be even more beneficial because you will also be protected from the sun. The boat itself is open, which leaves you vulnerable to the elements.

Our captains' name was captain Kirk. I wanted to ask him where Spock was, but I resisted. My name is Buffy after all. Who am I to judge?

On our Boggy Creek Airboat ride we saw this baby gator. Captain Kirk had a really good eye. Plus, you could tell he really wanted to find us wildlife.

If you look close you can see the baby next to the branch. We also found a larger gator towards the end of our ride.

There were these little pink pods on the trees. They were everywhere. We found out that they were caterpillar pods. There were also these pretty floating daisies on lily pads. I kept looking for a frog with water trickling from its mouth. But I found none.

I had never been on a lake like this before. I was surprised and awestruck. It was nice to be outside in the day. Plus we lucked out and got to be the only two people on the tour. Gotta love Groupon!

That's where we found a Groupon coupon that got us a 50% savings.

The day we went it was a little rainy and overcast. But even with a storm coming we were able to ride. Like most Orlando activities that are outdoors, the show must go on.

As long as there's no lightning you should be able to enjoy outdoor activities regardless of the Orlando, Florida weather.

I love the fact that the airboats can pretty much go wherever they want. If there wasn't a path already, Captain Kirk would just make one!

After making one path for ourselves in the tall grass Chris noticed that we had picked up a few unpaid customers, a frog and a grasshopper. They rode with us for a little while and then eventually flew off.

We also had an encounter with a spider flying in the wind by a tread. We made bets on who it would smack in the face. Turns out it eventually flew off the boat too.

Both encounters with these insects made for a fun conversation and story after our ride.

If you're looking for some speed and some fun than Boggy Creek airboat rides is for you!

The same area you'll find the Boggy Creek airboat rides you'll also find a little petting farm, a restaurant and a store. The petting farm is five dollars and they have ponies, pigs, goats, and more.

You can get feed for the animals for fifty cents at the store. It has a good amount in it too. Or, if you're over by the petting area you can get some feed for a quarter from the little vending machine.

There are also Clydesdale horses you can ride for ten bucks. We didn't do that but maybe another day.

You can also rent a cabin for $85 a night. If you do stay it's nice the the resturant is there because it has a lot of good weekend specials, including an all you can eat seafood buffet on Friday nights. Plus, the everyday menu isn't too shabby either.
