Chevys Fresh Mex is one of the best restaurants in Orlando for authentic (Americanized) Mexican food! Brightly colored and very welcoming this restaurant in Orlando stands out for sure.

There’s plenty of parking in the restaurant lot and the surrounding lot that belongs to the shopping center located behind this Orlando Mexican restaurant.

When you walk in you’ll see colorful lights, walls and art work. Many times I find myself looking around for the mariachi band.

Located right outside of Downtown Disney it’s in the heart of Orlando's entertainment district. Drive down the street a few miles to mile marker nine and you’ll find Old Town Orlando.

Chevys Fresh Mex offers many of the same items that Don Pablos offers. But there’s one thing that sets it apart from other Orlando, Florida restaurants. The tomalito! This stuff is delicious.

I think the Chevys Fresh Mex menu is the only place you'll see it. It’s served with every meal. I always ask for an extra side of it. It’s kind of a ground up cornbread concoction.

It’s just so good! You have to make sure you have a taste when you visit.

If you go to Chevys Fresh Mex during the week between the hours of 4pm-7pm you’ll hit “El Happy Hour.” That’s when Chevy’s Fresh Mex offers $3.00 drinks and half priced appetizers.

If you go during the week until 3pm there’s also a lunch menu. You can find many favorites like fajitas and burritos for $10.00 or less.

At dinner time they also have an extensive menu that’s all fairly priced with a great amount of vegetarian options ( for those veggie lovers out there.) Plus there’s a kid friendly menu that’s sure to please even your pickiest eater.

Chevys Fresh Mex is very popular so it gets busy in the evenings. So be prepared to wait a bit.

Just like other Orlando Mexican restaurants Chevy's offers free chips and salsa. The chips are light and crispy.

And depending on the day the salsa may be spicy or mild. It’s made fresh daily so it really depends on who makes it that day.

If you like to enjoy a drink with your meal you’re gonna want to try one of Chevy’s Margaritas. They are about the size of your head! I’m sure that you will be waddling out instead of walking out after one of these.

There’s a fully stocked bar at this restaurant in Orlando, Florida so if you're not into Margaritas you can have something else. Like a long island iced tea, a mojito, strawberry daiquiris, a...well you get the idea.

The food sizes match that of the alcoholic beverages. If you’re used to smaller portions you could easily share a meal with a friend. Or, just plan on taking half home for a meal later on or for the following day.

My favorite thing to get when I go to this restaurant (or any of the other Orlando Mexican restaurants) is the fajitas.

They come out sizzling on a big platter. The presentation is very nice. But not as nice as the taste or quantity. I always have enough left over to make a whole other meal!

Don’t forget to save room for dessert. Like fried ice cream (a Mexican classic.)

For a little entertainment you can watch the fresh tortillas being made. Watch as they get pressed out and then set on a rotating hot plate and then packaged into a little bag. Then delivered to your table hot and fresh!

If you like guacamole as much as I do you going to love how it’s made. They take the avocados and Pico de Gallo and mash it all together for you.....right at your table! Talk about fresh.

This is one of the Orlando, Florida restaurants that treat you right on your birthday. After your dinner you may hear some loud noises coming your way. In the form of a happy birthday song.

One of the servers at Chevyes Fresh Mex will put a big, floppy sombrero on your head and give you a nice dessert. You even get to keep the hat! The kids love it.
