Golden Corral
Golden Corral claims to be Orlando’s best buffet. And I have to agree! This buffet is full of everything you could ever want. From salad, to spaghetti to an impressive amount of desserts made in house and fresh daily. If you plan on visiting I hope you go hungry!
This's one of the restaurants in Orlando Florida that's sure to please everyone. Golden Corral offers the best of your favorite comfort foods. Such as mashed potatoes, corn, black eyed peas, pot roast, broccoli, collard greens, mac n cheese, fresh made soups, bourbon chicken, stuffing, meat loaf and if you go for dinner, steak and seafood.
The main course changes from time to time. For example, last time my husband Chris and I visited Golden Corral they had applewood grill items. Including bacon wrapped scallops, chicken, fish and steak. Chris loved it because he likes anything wrapped in bacon. Me not so much. I enjoy the traditional comfort foods. If you're looking for some lighter fare check out the salad bar. But be careful even that contains seafood and pasta salads. Not exactly light.
I do know one thing though, if you walk out hungry it's your own fault. Golden Corral has breakfast on the weekends in the local part of Orlando. But the ones in the tourist sections have it all week long. That makes it an ideal stop if you're planning on a day in the parks. It's a quick easy meal when your in a hurry. Plus your whole family can fill up and make it through lunch without a grumble. Go to Golden Corral and load up on bacon, eggs, sausage, cereal, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, plus warm donuts from the bakery. Or, get yourself a made to order omelet. This takes a bit more time because there's usually a line. But it will be worth the wait!
Breakfast includes a drink. They have a selection of juices or coffee. The breakfast is around $7.00 as is lunch. And dinner's about $10.00. The drinks are only included with breakfast. Lunch and dinner you pay a couple extra dollars if you want something other than water.
My Aunt Karen has always referred to the Golden Corral as the troff. Like the feed bag you strap on a horse. I think it’s pretty funny but also quite fitting. If you're not careful you could walk out five pounds heavier. Just like I tell my husband "just because it's all you can eat doesn’t mean you have to eat all you can eat." I go there because of the great selection of foods. This's perfect if you have a picky eater on your hands. Here they can choose whatever they want. Plus if they don’t like something it doesn’t cost extra for them to choose something else. I personally love to try a little bit of everything! My reason for labeling this one of the best restaurants in Orlando Florida is because of the yeast rolls. Warm buns with honey butter slathered on top. They just melt in your mouth.
Be sure to try one but be careful, more than one and you might not have room for anything else. They're baked fresh every fifteen minutes or so. And you can find them on the dessert station near the pizza and other goodies.
This's one of the Orlando Florida restaurants you'll want to hit at the high times. Unlike other places to eat in Orlando it's actually better when it's busier. Mainly because the food has no time to sit and die under the heat lamps. Everything will come out fresh and hot. Beware if you see a bus parked in the lot though. That means it'll be especially busy. If you go right after a rush or towards the end of the night you may find it a bit unkept. They are good at replacing anything if you just ask. If you want to have a gathering, there are large rooms that can be sectioned off for parties. I had my bridal shower there. It was nice to be away from everyone else. Plus all of my guests got to have a free buffet (thanks Aunt Linda!). And clean up was done for us.
Before you go be sure to check out the “Sweet Spot”. This's where you’ll find the dessert station. Filled with delectable pies and cakes. An ice cream station with a bunch of toppings including m&m’s, gummy bears, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream. There's also pudding, jell-O and fresh baked cookies. My favorite way to end a meal!!
Sometimes you can find coupons for the Golden Corral in the Sunday paper. Or you can check some of the local travel magazines. If you're picky about your surrounding or like to be wined and dined Golden Corral may not be the right place for you. But if you looking for a family friendly, budget friendly place to eat in Orlando this is it!
