Jason's Deli is located in a strip mall located right next to the
Orlando Fashion Square
. According to its website it was voted one of the healthiest restaurants in the United States.
This’s one of the few
Orlando, Florida restaurants
that offer organic items to their customers. They offer organic wheat wraps, organic apples, and organic blue corn chips and homemade salsa just to name a few.
You can dine in, carry out or get a delivery (minimum purchase required and delivery charges). If you decide to dine in, you order at the counter. If you’ve never been to Jason's Deli before the staff there are happy to walk you through it.
You can order any sandwich as a half sandwich if you’re looking for something smaller to satisfy your hunger. You can save a few calories and a few bucks!
The Jason's Deli menu is broken down into ten sections, it includes Real choices, which are healthy options that even have the nutritional values posted right below.
All of the choices here are served with organic blue chips and homemade salsa, steamed veggies, baked chips or fresh fruit with a pickle on the side.
Then there’s the Soups, Fruit and Salads. Here you can choose to take advantage of the famous Jason's Deli salad bar.
It has items like organic potato and pasta salads, gingerbread muffins, and fresh cut veggies. You can add a side of meat for only $1.49 or a bowl of soup for $1.59. That way you can round out the meal.
Or, you can choose one of the pre-made salads. One of my favorite salads is the Taco Salad. It comes with a yummy chicken chili (or normal chili if you prefer); cheese, sour cream and they top it with homemade pico and guacamole.
It’s only $6.99 and it’s a very satisfying salad (although this isn’t an item with the calories listed because I doubt it’s that good for you, oh well at least its organic.)
You can also build your own sandwiches. You can choose from a whole sandwich, half sandwich or a slim, which has half the meat portion and comes with whole wheat bread.
You choose your meat like hot corn beef, oven roasted turkey, roast beef or a variety of others.
Then you choose your toppings like organic spinach, basil pesto with pine nuts or Italian peppers. The price for the whole sandwiches start at $5.79 and go up in price when you add things like cheese or sides like pasta salad or fresh fruit.
All sandwiches are served with chips and a pickle. But for a buck or two more you can add a bowl of soup. Like the spicy seafood gumbo. With just the right amount of kick.
Not to mention chunks of shrimp, lobster and whatever else they throw in the mix. Or, tomato basil, broccoli cheese or French onion. All are winners in their own right.
For only $6.99 you can get the Jason's Deli managers special. This includes a half sandwich and your choice of soup, or fresh fruit. And for only a dollar more you can have a side salad or ceaser salad.
You can also choose from the Poboys list which is served on New Orleans style Fresh Bread and it comes with chips and a pickle.
Chris loves the MeataBalla Po’boy with meatballs, Italian sauce and provolone cheese. It’s really big and messy but he eats it up every time!
Jason's Deli also offers pastas, club sandwiches and wraps. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. It’s all made fresh and it’s all delicious! They even have items for the kids that they’re sure to love.
The kids can get things like organic peanut butter and jelly, mac n cheese, or even a hot dog if they like. The kid’s meals start at $2.59 and there’s none over $4.00.
Something that Jason’s Deli offers that you’ll not likely find at other Orlando, Florida restaurants are their potatoes. No these aren’t just any ordinary potato.
These are baked potatoes on steroids. They’re huge! You can get them topped with whatever you like. But my guess would be you’ll have a hard time finishing them.
You can try the Texas Style Spud with barbeque, cheddar, and a natural buttery blend. Or, get a little of your veggies with the Spud Au Broc.
They cover the potato in broccoli cheese soup, cheddar cheese, green onions and bacon. This thing’s a monster!
Jason's Deli is a self-service restaurant. After you order your food, they take your name and you take a seat and wait for your meal. The tables are normally clean.
About five or ten minutes later you’re name is called and you go and retrieve your meal. You get your drinks yourself and your salad (if you order the salad bar.)
At lunch time it can get a little crazy because Jasons Deli is a local place. People that work in the surrounding area have a tendency come here for lunch.
Jason's Deli is a great place for those hard to please vegetarians too. With over half the menu being meat free they’re sure to find something they love.
Including a Muffaletta with grilled portabella mushrooms, organic spinach with provolone and homemade olive oil mix. They grill it and serve it with chips. Yum, Yum, Yummy!
Last time I visited Jason's Deli we ordered our food, sat and waited for our names to be called. We enjoyed our meal, and then to our surprise we were able to make an ice cream cone for free!
They have a machine set up next to the soda fountain with cones for everyone to enjoy. I thought that was a nice treat.
If you’re looking for something a little off the beaten path. That’ll satisfy your taste buds and your wallet make sure you check out Jason's Deli.
