Magical Midway is one of my favorite Orlando, Florida attractions. It’s an arcade/amusement park. With a large room of arcade games including guitar hero, racing games, shooting games, ski ball, basketball and much more. But it’s outside that you’ll find the true magic!

The two main rides are the Slingshot and the Swings. Both are sure to be a crowd pleaser. Even if you’re too scared to attempt these rides it's still fun to watch other thrill seekers.
I always watch and think “these people are crazy!” Including my husband. But it’s still fun to watch.
I used to work right across the street from Magical Midway, at Pizza Hut. Many of the tables faced the sling shot. And let me tell you it prompted more than a few stares, and conversations.
The sling shot is of course one of the main attractions at this Orlando, Florida amusement park. You sit in one seat and a brave friend sits in the other. The seats are then lowered into a plastic volcano. So you’re laying on your back and staring up at the sky.

The volcano then starts to steam (it’s very dramatic) and then BOOM! The sling shot is let go. The two terrified (me) or excited (my husband) riders are thrust into the air over 300 feet!
There’s twisting and turning and bouncing up and down. Oh yeah and quite a bit of screaming. All in all it’s very entertaining to watch (or ride if you’re into that sort of thing.)
Then there’s the Starflyer. A tall cylinder brings you to the top of this 230 foot swing. It then spins up to 54 miles per hour. That’s pretty fast!

If you’re afraid of heights you might want to skip this Orlando attraction. This swing is the only one of its kind in the United States according to the Magical Midway website.
Some people say the swings are not very secure and they are unsafe. I’ve never seen an issue and I worked across the street for years.
If you're looking for a good view of International Drive this would be the place to see it. Night time is best because everything is lit up like a Christmas tree. You can watch the sling shot shoot people in the air from a mile away because of the lights.
*The volcano sling shot are their own private thing. So you have to pay for it separately. The sling shot restrictions are also an independant thing that you'll have to check out when you get there*
My favorite thing to do at Magical Midway is to ride the go-carts. This's a three level, wooden go-cart track. With sharp twists and turns and 15 foot hills, this track is awesome! Plus you can drive as fast as you want. But be careful, you don't want to fly off the side.

Chris and I love to race each other. He’s a little sneaky though. If I get behind him he just weaves back and forth so I can’t pass. And I can’t smack into him because then we’ll get thrown out (you’re not supposed to bump into each other.)
He just can’t stand to be out maneuvered by a girl. He knows if he lets me pass I’ll leave him in my dust. Of course he’ll blame it on the fact that I have a faster car. Yeah, that’s the reason! Geez, he never lets me win :)
There’s also a water bumper car ride at Magical Midway. I’ve never actually done this but I’m sure on a hot Orlando, Florida day it would be a lot of fun. You can get wet while beating the heck out of your friends and family with a large motorized water bumper car!
You can pay for each individual ride at Magical Midway. Or you can buy an all access band that allows you to ride everything except the sling shot, that’s owned by a different company.
The band is a great idea if you want to ride the go carts, swings or water bumper cars a few times. Because if you pay for that individually you’ll have pretty much paid for the arm band.
Sometimes some of the rides aren’t in operation so make sure to ask or check out the park before deciding to buy the three hour arm band.
The games take tokens and you can win tickets from some of them. You take the tickets to the counter and choose from a selection of prizes. Some are pretty corny but the kids love em!
Of course they have some really cool prizes that cost like 1,000 tickets. Think about five tickets per game divided by 1,000. Okay so you’ll only have to play 250 games to get the prizes. I guess if you’re here all week it can be done!
You must go into Magical Midway with an open mind. It’s one of the older Orlando Florida attractions so it’s seen better days. The good thing is that it’s never really busy. Most times you don’t have to wait long to play the arcade games or ride the go-carts or other rides.
There are no true kiddie rides at Magical Midway. If you have smaller children and want them to have fun too you may want to go down the street a bit and check out Fun Spot.
The admission to Magical Midway is always free as is the parking. Be sure to check out the website for coupons and promotions before you go. There are height and age restrictions to both drive or ride in the go-carts and some of the other rides. You can find all this out on the website.
If you have a kids birthday coming up it would be a fun place to celebrate. There’s birthday packages that includes the rides, food and tokens.
Magical Midway is a fun place to spend a little time. You can keep more money in your pocket by buying the three hour wrist band. Or you can spend just a few bucks and still have a good time. Either way this's one of the Orlando, Florida attractions that'll be fun for the whole family!
