Orlando Florida Attractions Number One Spot Goes to..... SeaWorld Orlando!

My favorite of all the Orlando Florida attractions has got to be SeaWorld. Although I don’t normally focus on theme parks in Orlando I feel I have to mention this one.

SeaWorld Orlando is by far the best theme park there is. I love it so much. I’m even willing to pay for it....well kinda of.

Get your

I recently got the chance to visit SeaWorld Orlando for free. I was invited to a graduation for Canine Companions. A wonderful non profit organization that helps disabled people by giving them highly trained dogs.

One of the perks was I got to go to the graduation and then hang out at SeaWorld Orlando for the rest of the day!

This's one of the largest Orlando Florida attractions so make sure to take your map along with you so you know where you’re headed. This place is huge!

Plus it’ll tell you times of the shows, where the rides are, where to find the restaurants and snack bars, where the smoking areas are and much more.

If you have kids you can bring along your own stroller. Make sure when you park your strollers, so you can ride a ride, that you take money and other possessions with you.

Never leave items unattended if you hope for them to be there when you get back. Most people will leave them alone....but you never know.

The thing that makes SeaWorld different from all the other Orlando Florida attractions is that they are all about conservation.

Everywhere you turn you’ll see a sign that tells you about the animals that live at SeaWorld. Then it’ll explain what their natural habitat is like and how we can help preserve it. I love that education is a part of their mantra.

There’s cool things to look at everywhere you go. Plus there’s rides too. The three rides are the Manta, Journey to Atlantis and Kraken.

The Manta looks like a sting ray and it takes you through a bunch of twists and turns. It’s a little too much for me to handle but I enjoy watching people ride it.

The Journey to Atlantis is the best ride for a hot summer day. It takes you on a journey through Atlantis and then it ends by plummeting you through a field of water. Expect to get wet.

Kraken is by far my favorite roller coaster even though it goes upside down. I recommend sitting in the front because that’s the best view.

Part of the reason I love SeaWorld so much is because of the beautiful animals that it houses. None of the other Orlando Florida attractions have anything like it.

It's home to some of the most beautiful sea creatures in the world. Including whales, dolphins, penguins, sting rays, manatees and sharks. There’s also tropical birds and flamingos.

You can get up close and personal with many of these animals. My favorite place to visit when I’m at this theme park in Orlando is the sting ray exhibit. I love to run my hands across their silky smooth bellies.

You can get some shrimp to feed them for five dollars. They all start swimming as fast as their little fins allow to get to that food.

You might find that you have ten of them splashing around waiting for you to feed them. It's funny but also a little scary. I’ve never had one bite me and I’m told they take their stingers off so they will not sting you.

One other thing that’s cool is that there’s always someone there to explain what the animals are like, how they like to be pet, how to feed them, what their environment is like and how to take care of them. Basically they are there to answer any questions you may have.

This Orlando Florida attractions best exhibit is the dolphins. I’ve never had much luck getting to pet them until today! There’s usually crowds of people waiting to get a touch so it’s hard to get in.

But if you’re patient you can find a good spot and the dolphins may slide across the side of the tank and allow you to get a little feel. You can feed all the animals at SeaWorld for about five bucks.

I say save your money for the dolphins. For only a couple dollars more you can go into a special part of the tank and feed fish directly to them. They come right up to you with their months open. You can pet them and feed them...plus you can get some pretty good pictures.

You may be able to touch the dolphins a little bit but they kind of keep their distance unless you have food. This would be the one time I think it would pay to feed the animals.

All the other exhibits there’s someone around you feeding them so you can see. But most of the others already make it easy for you to touch the animals. The dolphins are more elusive.

For seven bucks you can get up close and personal. You can touch them. They practically jump on the walls to get to the fish. They must starve them all day or something. They are definitely food motivated.

I did an internship at Seaworld Orlando when I was in college. I called the things they do “tricks”. I was quickly corrected and told that the “tricks” the animals perform are natural behaviors.... meaning they do the same in the wild.

They are just taught through reinforcement (food) to perform them. Kinda like a dog when you give a treat for learning how to sit.

SeaWorld Orlando offers so many fun things to do. If you get a little hot you can go inside and visit the sharks. It’s nice and air conditioned.

You go through a tunnel that has beautiful tropical fish and sharks swimming all around you. It’s almost like being in the ocean but you don’t get all wet and sandy.

*If you are going to visit SeaWorld Orlando expect at some point to get wet. Whether from a ride, a show or from a storm shower. So plan accordingly*

If you want to cool off or find shelter from the rain you can always check out one of the restaurants or snack shops. I love ice cream. I got one here in a souvenir bowl. I'm a sucker for a souvenir!

Another thing that sets SeaWorld apart from other Orlando Florida attractions are the shows. Great and entertaining shows that hold the attention of both young and old.

You can visit the seal show and watch a cute seal and his pirate friend try to find their way back to land.

Or, check out the dolphins with their feathery friends. This circus de soleil inspired show will have you gasping with excitement. And of course the Shamu show is not to be missed.

*I’m sure everyone has heard about the tragedy with the trainer a while back. The particular whale that was involved had been known to be aggressive. Now they have enacted better standards for the trainers to make sure they are safe*

This show is awesome. It’s very interactive and entertaining.....as are all the all of this Orlando Florida attractions shows.

You can easily spend the entire day here. Walking around the beautifully maintained grounds, watching shows, feeding the animals or just chilling in a shady spot watching the other people enjoy themselves.

When packing for your trip make sure to take into account that this's Florida. Expect sun, rain and everything in between. Make sure to pack sun screen, a poncho, snacks, water and anything else you think you’ll need.

Trust me you don’t want to have to buy it there. Although SeaWorld prices aren’t as bad as some of the other Orlando Florida attractions.

You can easily spend an entire day here and still have more to see. That’s why I love it so much. Unlike other Orlando Florida attractions, SeaWorld is able to hold my interest time and time again. I think I love it a little more each time I go. I hope you do too. Have fun!
