The Orlando House of Blues has a lot to offer!
The
Orlando House of Blues
is one of the coolest nightclubs in town. But it also has something else going for it. There’s an awesome restaurant attached.
I found a coupon on
restaurant.com
for $25 off a $35 meal at this restaurant in Orlando. So course I had to take my girlfriends along with me to check it out.
The Orlando House of Blues is located in Downtown Disney. It’s free to park and you’ll find the House of Blues Orlando by looking for the large water tower.

When you walk up to the Orlando House of Blues you'll notice it looks like a cute little cottage. To the right of the restaurant are picnic tables which has an inviting feel.
It'd be a great place to sit and eat on a nice, breezy Orlando, Florida day. You can watch the happenings of Downtown Disney as you enjoy your meal.

Step inside the Orlando House of Blues restaurant and you'll be welcomed into a world of music. Rock 'n roll that is. It’s full of colorful artwork and interesting things to look at.
When we walked in we were seated promptly. *Ask for a table in the back of the restaurant if you want a nice view of the water.*

I was out to lunch with my girlfriends so of course we had to have a drink or two. The best Long Island Iced Tea I've ever had, I got at the House of Blues.
Of course I had order one of those (or two.) Most of the drinks, including the shooters come in their own souvenir glasses.
Some of the things on the menu are not much different that what you'd find in any of the other Orlando, Florida restaurants.
We started our meal off with spinach dip which was awesome by the way and then moved on to our main course. They had a nice selection of sandwiches and entrees.
The average meal ranges from $21-$35 which is a bit higher than I'm used to (although most meals are large enough to share.) Lucky for me I had that great restaurant.com coupon.
If you make it for happy hour between the hours of 3pm-5pm you can get some great drink specials. Like $2.00 bottle beers and $3.00 cocktails plus half off all appetizers (which includes gumbo that can’t be missed). There’s also a second happy hour that starts a 10pm.
If you have kids to feed the kids meals are a good size. Large enough for two small children to share. Also they taste good too!
Be sure to try the cornbread. If you love it as much as I do you can go into the House of Blues Orlando store and buy the mix. Also, The sweet potato fries are awesome!
Make sure to get yourself a big juicy burger because they are pretty tasty (or so my friend says.)
The menu has been streamlined so there isn’t as much variety as there used to be. But there’s still some good selections.
Also, the food has been toned down to appease the weak at heart when it comes to spices and flavor. If you expecting real Cajun food you may be disappointed.
The jambalaya gets both thumbs up and thumbs down. I guess it depends on your tastes buds. My friend Maria got this dish and I had a few bites. I thought it was very tasty. Plus the day was cold outside so the nice, warm jambalaya was a welcome treat.
Although after reading some reviews if you’ve ever been to New Orleans and had real jambalaya you may be disappointed. But for this Florida local I’d say it hit the mark.
We did run into a bit of a snag when we were eating lunch. Unfortunately as Maria’s meal was being served she was told the plate was very hot.
When they placed the plate on the table it broke into two and splattered all over Maria. Cutting her hand and splashing on her white shirt in the process.
Now mind you this was an accident and it was very minor. At first I wondered what all the fuss was about. Being in Downtown Disney and on Disney World property we were given the star treatment.
Our meal was taken care of and we were all given a jacket (because it was cold out and I had given Maria my jacket so she could take off her soiled shirt) at the Orlando House of blues souvenir shop. We were even treated to some desert. A rich, chocolate, delicious, decadent dessert.

This doesn't have much to do with the restaurant itself but I just thought I'd let you know what type of customer service you can expect to receive at the House of Blues Orlando restaurant.
Our server was very attentive and concerned about Maria’s well being. Since we got our meal for free we made sure to take care of her and leave her a nice, big tip.
If you go in a large group of 6 or more the gratuity will be added. If you’re unsure about what do while
dining out in Orlando
check this out. You can always ask to make sure that you aren’t over tipping.
There’s also a Sunday Brunch at the Orlando House of Blues. It’s one set price that you pay to eat a variety of buffet foods. There’s also some live entertainment while you enjoy your meal. The jury's still out on the Sunday brunch.
Some people love it and others don’t think it’s worth the money. I guess it just depends on what your looking for.
If you’re in the Downtown Disney area and you’re looking for something to eat, check out the Orlando House of Blues!
