Orlando Fashion Square is my Favorite Shopping Mall in Orlando!

The Orlando Fashion Square

Orlando, Florida 32803

The Fashion Square Mall (that's how it's known to the locals) is my favorite of all the Orlando shopping malls. Just outside of downtown it’s the closest mall to where I live. Making it the ultimate local hangout!

The Orlando Fashion Square is certainly not the grandest of all the Orlando shopping malls. Nor is it the prettiest. But it offers a few things the Mall at Millenia and the Florida Mall Orlando don’t.

Like the Premiere Cinema 14. I go there all the time with my husband Chris, my friend Rachel or my Mom.

orlando fashion square theatre Rachel loves it because they offer nacho’s with melted cheese at the snack bar. I love the popcorn because you can add different flavors to it like white cheddar or cinnamon! And Chris likes the dipping dots (little balls of ice cream that look like pellets).

Like I said we go there a lot!

With large stadium seating and all the new releases this movie theater is great for a couple hours of entertainment. It always has plenty of movie times to choose from. And it never really gets over crowded, even on opening weekends. But there’s always a ton of teenagers around.

The prices at the theater are no worse than any other in town. If you’re over 60 or have a student ID you’ll get a discounted rate. Pkus if you get there for the first showing of the day the price drops to only $4.50!

Chris loves the comic store on the second level across from the theater. He makes me stop in all the time and I have to admit I find my self looking around on my own.

It’s full of comic memorabilia. Impressive statues of Marvel characters, Star Wars characters and Aliens characters. Plus they have posters. Some that I’d even be willing to hang on the wall!

Then there’s the hardcore hardback comic books. I have to admit it’s a pretty cool store if your into anything comic book related. Like Spider Man or Batman. It’d be a cool place to pick up a souvenir. Plan to spend a couple hundred bucks if you want any of the statues though.

inside the orlando fashion square Although the Orlando Fashion Square isn’t as large as the other two malls it does have a ton of great stores.

Their hub stores include Macy’s, JCPenney’s, Sears, and Dillard’s. Plus they also have Hot Topic, Victoria Secret, and Game Stop.

There’s also tons of places to shop for the kiddies including Gymboree, Limited too and Children’s Place. These stores are always clean and not too busy.

There’s always a good amount of parking spaces at this Orlando Florida shopping mall. Whether you park in front of one of the main stores, or in the parking garage you’ll never have to walk far to get inside.

I wouldn’t recommend parking in front of the main entrance though because that’s always busy.

I’ve heard some people don’t like the Orlando Fashion Square because it’s smaller and older than the other two Orlando shopping malls. the wall at orlando fashion square This is true but I think that’s what adds to its character. I’ve been going to this mall for as long as I can remember. It hasn’t changed much. It still has that small, home town feel to it.

It’s a great mall for those of you that aren’t really into mall shopping. Never over crowded and always offering deals.

The Orlando Fashion Square has a nice easy layout. It’s sort of an L-shape. Making it extremely easy to navigate.

The entire place is one level until you get to the food court that’s located on the second floor near the movie theater. It’s pretty cool to sit upstairs and be able to look down at the foot traffic below.

This isn’t one of the Orlando shopping malls that’s going to have the more upscale stores in it. There is no Abercrombie and Fitch or Jimmy Choo in this mall. But the stores that are here offer good merchandise and great sales.

Often times when Victoria Secret has their semi annual sale people forget to check out the Orlando Fashion Square. They go to the other two Orlando shopping malls instead. Leaving all the great sale items behind for me!

orlando fashion square As I said before it’s a hangout for the local teenagers. It’s not so bad during the week but the weekend can be over run by them.

These kids get all dressed up just to go hang out at the mall. It’s actually pretty funny. You’d think they were going for a night on the town or something.

So If you want to get some Orlando shopping done in peace be sure to do it during the weekdays.

The Orlando Fashion Square Mall gets busier around the holidays as do all the Orlando shopping malls. It's when Santa comes to visit!

They even set up the wishing well near the food court with a large Christmas Tree and really dress the place up. It’s my favorite time of year to go. Plus it's not as crowded as the other two Orlando Florida malls.

I’ve heard this Orlando Florida shopping mall is where discount stores go to die. Maybe if your looking for high class, upscale shopping this would be your view point.

But if your looking for a down home, easy going Orlando shopping experience Orlando Fashion Square will do just fine.

I agree this isn’t the nicest mall of them all. It has its faults. I guess I’m willing to forgive because its been a part of my life for so long. You either love it or you hate it. And I love it!

inside the orlando fashion square The Orlando Fashion Square may not beat the Mall at Millenia or Florida Mall Orlando when it comes to high fashion. But it does offer a quaint shopping experience.

Unfortunately the part of town this mall lives in was hurt by the recession. Most of the restaurants that used to be on highway 50 (also known as East Colonial Drive) have closed.

It’s starting to look like a sad little street. But they’re creating a better driving system that should allow more traffic into the area.

And they’re still a tone of great restaurants and shops to choose from. Including Sweet Tomatoes and Ross Dress for Less . Many of the larger restaurants that survived are Darden restaurants and a few smaller fast food places.

Once you get to the mall and surrounding areas you’re heading towards downtown (or away from it depending on how you come) which is the nicest part of Orlando. With old houses, lakes and cool little shops, night clubs and bars.

picture on the wall at orlando fashion square So you could do a little shopping at the mall during the day and go have a drink or relaxing evening downtown at night.

Orlando Fashion Square is where the heart of Orlando begins. If you’re looking for a little piece of the real Orlando this's where it lives!

This mall offers its visitors a little piece of Orlando Florida history. If you don’t want to get lost in the crowds be sure to check out the Orlando Fashion Square!
