Daytona Beach is one of the Best Orlando Florida Beaches for fun in the Sun!!

However, there are several great beaches near Orlando to choose from. So for the purpose of keeping within my topic I’ll refer to these as Orlando Florida beaches.

Daytona Beach Florida is about an hour drive on I-4. It’s a simple and leisurely drive that’s well worth it. I love this beach!

By day Daytona Beach is filled with family fun but by night it turns into a hot spot. The best place to party is Ocean Deck.

Daytona beach bars are plentiful but this’s a local favorite. Ocean Deck is great place to party in the evenings because they offer live music.

Plus you can walk out on the sand and enjoy the cool waves. Because this bar is directly on the beach!

If you want to stay away from the party Ocean Deck also offers an upstairs restaurant that’s a lot quieter. Plus it has a great view of the beach!

The only downfall is that it comes with potato chips instead of fries. If you want fries you have to pay extra. Oh well the sandwich is big enough to satisfy my appetite so that’s really no big deal.

One reason I rate Daytona as one of the top Orlando Florida beaches is that everything is within walking distance. My husband, Chris, and I think that’s one of the best parts of vacation. Neither one of us really cares to drive so this’s a nice aspect of Daytona for us.

Another favorite is playing video games on the boardwalk. It’s become a tradition for us. A few minutes walk from Ocean Deck will get you there.

You can play sci ball, old time video games or my personal favorite Lets Make a Deal (like the television show). This games gives up to 1000 tickets! The tickets go towards cheesy little prizes that usually aren’t worth what you spent to play the games. But it’s a fun reward.

It’s really cool to hang out on the boardwalk and watch this world famous beach unfold. Everyone’s so laid back in Daytona. How can you not be when hanging out at one of the best Orlando Florida beaches?

About a five minute walk from the boardwalk is the Ocean Walk Center. This center offers a movie theater, shopping and restaurants. Plus it has a stage for special events.

There’s a ton of fun things to do here including eating Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. There they have authentic items from the Forest Gump movie. In front they have a bench with big metal shoes you can put your feet in and take a picture.

Wander up the stairs to the second floor of the movie theater and you’ll find coupons near the bathrooms. There they often times have a coupon for a free popcorn at the movies. Plus other discounts for local places in Daytona Beach Florida.

On the third floor of this movie theater you’ll find an arcade. Which offers a great view of Daytona Beach. You can even walk out on a balcony to take it all in. I like to people watch. It’s fun to see kids splashing in the waves, people playing volleyball and cars passing by.

You can drive on the sand at this beach near Orlando. There’s a ton of controversy on wether or not this’s a good idea (be mindful of drivers because just like on the roads some don’t pay attention.)

It’s pretty cool because you can bring everything you need for a day of fun in the sun. It’s nice to be able to park your car and just make a day of it. Bring a boom box, some great snacks to enjoy and maybe a frisbee or a bucket and you have a day ready for fun!

This’s one of the best Orlando Florida beaches for relaxation. If you hang out on this beach you’ll have plenty of opportunity to have a good time. I’d recommend parasailing if you haven’t done it before.

I remember when we decided to go I was really scared. But once we were lifted up over the water it was nothing but a peaceful experience. Now I see why birds love to fly. Nothing but the soothing breeze in your ears. But watch out you’ll see all the things lurking in the water. Like jelly fish....ewww.

You can also rent a three wheel bike to cruise around on the beach. Or maybe you want to ride an ATV? But be careful there’s a speed limit and rules on the Orlando Florida beaches that you can drive on. So make sure you pay attention because you can still get a ticket. That goes for when you’re driving your car as well.

My favorite part about this world famous Florida beach is walking it! Wait for the tide to come and you can collect sea shells off the sand. Plus you can see so many fun and interesting things.

Last time we went we saw a flock of birds with mo-hawks! We watched them run up and down the sand to avoid getting their feet wet from the incoming tide.

They ran really fast to avoid the water and then when the tide went back out they would scurry around to feast on the little fish left behind. It was so cute!

Although it’s cool to be able to eat, drink and be merry right on the beach I encourage you to clean up after yourself. I hear a lot of complaints about how this’s one of the dirtiest Orlando Florida beaches.

When I walk the beach I find myself picking up trash left behind by others. It makes me sad to think that people don’t care about throwing their garbage into the ocean water. Remember the ocean is home to many wonderful, unique animals. So put the trash where it belongs. (This massage has been brought to you by Buffy Werle, tree hugger extraordinaire.)

If you want to venture a little farther away hop in your car and check out what else Daytona has to offer. One fun thing I enjoyed was Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

It’s the tallest lighthouse in all of Florida and the second tallest in the United states. You can check out the grounds which include the light keepers house. Plus you can go to the top of the lighthouse (for a small fee) and see a 360 degree view of Daytona Beach!
