Orlando Florida weather can be described in one word....unpredictable. Even the weather men often get their weather predictions wrong.
I’m going to break down what it’s like in Orlando, Florida during any given season. I’m sure you’ve heard that Orlando, Florida doesn’t really have seasons.
I guess you can say that it doesn’t have typical seasons but there are a few. We have summer and mild summer.
Weather in Orlando, Florida during January, Febuary and March
Orlando Florida weather during the months of January to March is the most beautiful time of year in my opinion. Usually mild temps between 60-70 degrees can be expected during these months.
You can go outside and it’s very enjoyable. Not a lot of bugs, the sky is always blue and not much rain to speak of.

Orlando Florida Weather in April and May
April and May can be a little tricky. Sometimes it gets very hot maxing out in the upper 80's. Depending on what’s happening in the rest of the East really determines the Orlando weather forecast.
If there are still cold fronts in the upper part of the country Florida weather conditions can vary depending on those.
I like to say that we (Floridians) borrow our cold weather from the rest of the country because we don’t have our own. So if there’s a major snow storm in New York then we will probably have some lower Orlando temperatures than normal.
Come May the temps begin to rise. It almost feels like summer time. The flowers are starting to bloom and the pool water is heating up!
Weather in Orlando in June, July, August and September
If you come to Orlando,Florida during the summer months (June, July, August and September) you might think that your skin is going to melt right off. It gets very hot during these months, sometimes reaching tempetures in the 100's.
Plus it gets very humid. Often times it’s the humidity that makes the Orlando Florida weather so unbearable. Plus during the summer months you will encounter a lot more issues with bugs. Primarily mosquitos.
These can be combated with bug spray. Or just do like I do and stay in doors during these months. But I guess that wouldn’t be as much fun.
These are the months that you can pretty much guarantee that it’s going to rain in the afternoon....every afternoon.
Sometimes it’s a quick downpour that allows you to get back to your outdoor activities quickly. Even appearing as if it never rained at all. The sun will come back out and everything.
Sometimes it’s torrential downpours. Lasting the rest of the day. The cool thing about the rain is that you can see it coming. Sometimes when you’re driving or hanging out outside you can see the dark storm clouds pouring rain.
It’s actually pretty cool to watch. It can be a mile away or so and you can see it just pouring buckets. The fun part is when you are headed right towards it...or it towards you. It's a race to make it to shelter.
If you are driving in the rain and it’s a heavy rain your visibly can be hampered. If this happens you can slow down and put your hazards on or just pull over to the side of the road and let it pass.
Don't drive as quickly as normal otherwise you may find yourself hydroplaning. This is when the water gets underneath your tires and your brakes are no longer useful to you.
If this happens just go with the direction it's taking you and let off the gas.
Orlando Hurricanes and Rain
You have to remember that Orlando, Florida is tropical.
Hurricane season is during the months of June through November. I’ve lived in Orlando, Florida my entire life and in that time we have only been hit by very few major storms. Many of which caused minimal damage (in comparison to other natural disasters around the country.)
Orlando, Florida is very inland so by the time a major storm gets to us it has died down to a tropical depression or just a heavy rain.
If you watch the news it will seem like the world is going to end if there's a storm headed our way. Often times these storms shift paths and either die out or hit the Carolina coast.
During the summer time we get a lot of tornado warnings so be mindful of those. If you see one get to a low lying area until it passes. They don’t hit as often as we get warnings for them though.
The only time you have to take the news seriously is when they are enforcing an evacuation. Otherwise you can pretty much ignore their weather predictions.
Sometimes after a heavy rain there can be major flooding on the roads. Be cautious when driving. Sometimes the flood looks more shallow than it really is. So make sure to go slowly through it so you don’t get stuck.
Florida is the lightning capitol of the United States. We are proud of our title. Like I said before often times you can see the rain coming but many times you’ll hear it first.
A magnificent bolt of lightning will light up the sky followed by a BA-BOOM! If you’re in a safe place it’s fun to watch.
What if it rains?
I would definitely recommend a bad weather plan. If you find the your Orlando, Florida weather prediction for the day is not so good maybe that would be a good time for you to get some of your Orlando shopping done.
Or you could to check out some Orlando Florida attractions that are indoors. Like the Orlando Science Center or the Orlando Museum of Art.
Alot of Orlando activites are outdoors. Usually you'll be able to do most of them as long as there isn't lightning. If you wake up in the morning and you see clouds, don't fret! Go have breakfast, take your time, and see how the day unfolds.
Usually the sun comes out. Even if it doesn't, there are days that it threatens to rain and never does. Remember Orlando Florida weather is unpredictable.
Orlando Florida Weather in October, November and December
October, November and December Orlando Florida weather is again a little tricky. There have been Halloweens where I’ve thought I was going to freeze and some that I thought I was going to pass out. There really is no rhyme or reason for the temperatures during the month of October.
This past October was still very warm. It's already the beginning of November and the temps still haven't dropped. And it's raining outside.
That's the beauty of Orlando, Florida. Everyday is a new day and you never really know what you're gonna get.
The Orlando temperatures in the months of November and December are just as abnormal. I’ve never had a white Christmas but some have been chilly even getting down in the 30's. And then I’ve had some I've worn shorts for.
During these months though the Orlando temperatures are usually alot more mild than in the summer. It may be hot (or cold) but you will not have the muggy, sticky feeling of the summer months.
I know that the summer months are the most popular for people to come. I can understand it’s when the kids are out of school.
But as far as the Orlando Florida weather goes it isn’t the most desirable time. Unless you plan on doing a lot of water activities. Then it’s the perfect time.

So when is the best time to visit Orlando, Florida?
If I had to choose a best time for the perfect Orlando Florida weather I would say the first three months of the year.
Or the last three months because that's normally when the Orlando temperatures and humidity are calming down. Like I said before that when it’s the most mild and it’s simply beautiful here.
Not to mention it’s the best time to find deals for transportation to Orlando as well as lodging. Plus, kids are in school so the lines at the Orlando, Florida attractions are not as long and it’s not hot.
If you do find yourself here in the summer time and your going to be out in the heat make sure to stay hydrated. It's very easy to get dehydrated in the powerful Orlando,Florida sun. Also make sure to wear plenty of sun screen, and don’t forget to reapply.
Orlando Florida weather is beautiful two thirds of the year. The worst time is during the summer when it's hot and muggy. The other two thirds of the year you’ll think you’re in paradise!
