I’ve been going to Wet n Wild Orlando since I can remember. Every summer my mother, brother and I would pack up a cooler, grab some towels and hit the road!

As a kid I'd spend hours playing in the kiddie area. Hanging out and the sun and having a great day. Wet n Wild is still one of my all time favorite places to visit!

It has every type of ride imaginable. When you first enter through the front of Wet n Wild Orlando you’ll immediately be greeted by the Wave Pool. It’s a large pool that has simulated waves.

It can be a lot of fun but you also get tossed around when the waves come. Make sure you’re a good swimmer if you’re going to attempt this. It’s easier if you have a tube because you can just ride the waves.

If you plan on swimming make sure you're a strong swimmer. Otherwise, you may find yourself getting a little beat up by the waves. If you hang back or get a tube you can just rides the waves. It’s a lot of fun.

One of my favorite rides is called the Bubba Tub. It’s just this big tube that goes down a hilly slide. You pack 4 people in it and go flying down the slide.

It’s so much fun because you can watch the expression on the faces of the other people in the tube. And it's cool because you can ride it with your friends.

If you get the right distribution of weight you can fly up over the hills and get splashed at the same time. This’s one of many multi person rides at Wet n Wild Orlando. These are cool because it allows groups of people to go together.

There’s another cool ride called the Mach 5. You lay on a mat and slide down a long slide that has twists and turns. It almost looks like a Bob sledding track. I like to hold the front of the mat up so that I can maneuver up the sides of the slide. You should try it, it’s tons of fun!

Then you come sliding down into a large pool. There’s three different slides so it’s fun to race your friends down to the bottom.

Some people sit around at the picnic tables and just watch. So if you’re not into water rides or you just want to chill out you can just people watch. It’s almost as much fun.

If you’re feeling really lazy you can chill out in the Lazy River. It’s just one big pool that is probably about mile long.

You go in a huge circle and you can either swim it or sit in a tube (you may have a hard time finding tubes if it’s busy, so if you do be sure to hold onto it) and let the current take you away. There’s waterfalls to play under too.

It’s fun to play in but you have to remember there’s tons of kids floating around in it too. The only thing I’m gonna say is that the water doesn’t turn blue if you pee in it. Hey I was a kid when I went to Wet n Wild Orlando so I know these things. So as an adult I always wonder....I'm just saying.

My husband Chris loves two of my least favorite rides at Wet n Wild Orlando. One is called The Storm. It’s a long slide that ends in a huge bowl that has water rushing through it.

You’ll see it if you’re standing in front of Wet n Wild Orlando. It would be to your right. It kinda looks like something that should be at the Space Station.

Anyways, you lay down in the Storm and you slide along the sides of the bowl. I call it the Toilet because it makes me feel like you’re being pooped out of the bottom hole.

Last time I rode this ride I got pooed out head first so I found myself swimming to the bottom. Once I realized, I swam upwards and heard someone yelling “over here” so I could find my way out. Chris loves this ride though. He makes sure to ride it two or three times during our visits to this Orlando water park.

Another ride that Chris loves that I haven’t even ridden to this day is called the Dir Stuka. Now remember I’ve probably been to Wet n Wild Orlando about 30 times before I met Chris and about 10 times since and I’ve never ridden this ride.

It isn’t because I’m scared (okay.... maybe a little) it’s because I’ve always watched from the bottom. The one thing that every rider has in common is that they all get a wedgie.

wet n wild blackhole

After running up the spiral ramp to get to the top of this monster you stand in front of what looks like a straight down drop. About 250 feet worth of a drop. A vertical one at that! If you’re scared of heights you may find yourself standing at the bottom with me.

At times it looks like the person is going to fly off (although no one ever has.) Once they get to the bottom of The Stuka (that’s what the locals call it) their bathing suit is so far up their butts they have to stand up and yank it out.

Chris assures me it’s totally worth it but I’m just not into giving anyone a peep show of my behind.

Anyhow Wet n Wild Orlando didn’t think this ride was scary enough so they added another one! The difference is you stand inside the ride and the bottom falls out, when you least expect it, and you go flying down a 76 foot slide. Um, I don't think so!

I swear I’ve never heard louder screams is my life than when watching people being dropped out of this. Maybe one day I’ll ride the wedgie rides but I really have no desire to. But most people that visit Wet N wild Orlando simply love these two rides.

Another cool thing to do at Wet n Wild Orlando is to try your skills at knee boarding. This’s something that sets them apart from other Orlando water parks. They have this huge lake that has a pulley system set up.

You get on your knee board and the pulley’s takes you in a circle around the lake. I tried this when I was younger and would always crash the minute I started. Mainly because as you round the corners the pulley yanks at you a little.

You have to hold on really tight and pull the handles towards your chest to keep it from being pulled out of your hands. It’s a lot of fun though and I remember feeling really proud of myself once I made it all the way around the lake.

You can also try your skills at wake boarding. One bummer is this’s a seasonal ride. It has it’s own hours and there’s a nominal fee tacked on.

Wet n Wild Orlando is fun for the whole family. They even offer a kiddie park for the younger kids that can’t ride the bigger rides. There’s a lot of fun things for them to do there. Including shooting other kids with water pistols and hanging on some monkey bars.

There’ also some smaller rides for the kids to enjoy. I remember being a kid and spending hours just splashing around in the kiddie park. My Mom had to drag me out of there.

How much does Wet N Wild Orlando cost?

General Admission is $47.95, Children (3-9) $41.95, Children (under 3) FREE, Senior Citizens (60+) are $41.95.

You can get a weekday annual pass for $49.99 and for $69.99 you can get a weekday annual pass that includes parking.

For $89.99 you can get an all year long pass that includes parking and both weekdays and weekends.

There are some places to check for discounts. You can get a Flex Pass which gets you into Five different parks for one set price. Or you can check out the Go Orlando Card which offers Wet N Wild Orlando as one of the attractions.

Parking is $10.00 for cars and trucks and $12.00 for RV’s and cars with trailers. You can rent a locker to put all of your stuff in for $5.00-$10.00 depending on your needs. When the park is busy you may have a hard time getting a locker because they fill up fast. So plan wisely.

When’s the best time to visit this Orlando water park?

During the summer the cost of admission goes down after 2pm to half price.

I think it's better to go during this time for a few reasons. It’s not as hot or as crowded which makes for a lot more fun (I’m also not really a morning person so that makes a difference). Although the crowds don’t die down until 6pm or 7pm. But once the sun goes down you’ll have the run of the place.

As a matter of fact I went in the evening one time and there was no one. My friends and I were able to get on every ride. All we had to do was get to the top and jump on the ride.

Sometimes you don’t realize how many stairs there are leading up to the rides until you have no one in front of you. Talk about a workout!

You can also go when it first opens to beat the crowds and the heat. If you’re an early risier you can have your run of the place until lunch time.

Wet n Wild is open all year round and they have heated pools for the colder times (which some years aren’t many.) The later in the season the earlier the park closes.

From September till the end of December the park closes at 5pm. You will not deal with lines either way during this time because it’s off season in Orlando, Florida.

If you go during the months of June, July ,August or the beginning of September you’ll find huge waits and lots of people. But that goes for any of the Orlando, Florida attractions during the summer months.

The down side to the summer months is that at times the lines can get really long. If you go off season or later in the evening you will not have to deal with those as much.

If you want to avoid the lines you can buy an express pass which will get you to the front. It costs an extra $20.00 but it may be worth it if you don’t like waiting.

Wet n Wild can not be confused with Disney theme parks. If you need things to be perfect you may not like it here. There may be some stray trash and even a few trashy people but I can guarantee that you’ll have a fun time if you go for the rides.

Is there anything to eat at Wet N Wild Orlando?

There’s snack bars that offer ice cream, soda and hot dogs. There’s also a few other places that offer food throughout the park. I think you can even get beer but they limit the amount. I guess they don’t want a bunch of drunk people drowning.

You can also bring in your own cooler with snacks if you want to save a few bucks. There’s plenty of places to sit but you’ll want to get there early if you want to set up shop somewhere.

Or, you could always check out some of the Orlando, Florida restaurants on International Drive. As long as you keep your arm band on you can leave the park and be able to go back after you eat.

Any other tips?

When I was younger I would get terrible headaches after a day in the sun at Wet n Wild Orlando. Now that I’m older I realize I was probably dehydrated.

So make sure you drink lots of water (and not just the water from the rides), wear sun screen and if you feel a headache coming on just get out of the sun for a little while. There’s lots of shaded areas to hang out in.

If you forget your camera or sun screen there’s shops that you can get all this stuff in.

Wet N Wild Orlando may not be big and fancy like some of the newer Orlando water parks. But it’s fun and affordable and a guaranteed good time!
